Factory Audit in China Suppliers
We conducted intensive factory audit in 2015 Q4 regarding quality management system in apparel suppliers.
These manufacturers located both in the coastal city and inland city of China. And its size from less than 100 people to more than 1000 people.
From the visiting,we hereby highlight some points which are very common to see in theses manufacturer,it represent the quality level for current supplier platform.
And you may thus find the focus area where to put effort to improve your supplier in order to enhance supplier capability and ensure reliable quality.
• outbound interaction
* Poor management to select,assess,approve its sub supplier to ensure reliable quality on raw material
* Not able to build the mechanism to develop its sub supplier in quality perspective
* Very weak on material chemical substance control
* Not fully identify clients' requirements,and transfer into CTQ (critical to quality)of internal process gate
• Internal quality management
* Lack of concept on performance management to set up the key performance indicate and thus cascades into process to identify the weak area and trigger improvement activities accordingly
* Not fully identify job description and skill matrix to evaluate people competence,and create the training plan accordingly to support operation needs
* Very weak on setting up process CTQ,and only rely on final product inspection. It is too late if any quality issue been found
* Not fully understand the sampling plan and AQL to ensure the samples checked are able to represent the inspection batch
* very weak on sharp tools control,and not really understand how to setup metal detector to ensure reliable metal detection result
* Not solid identify the control point for high chemical risk manufacturing process. For example: fabric coloring process,silk screen printing process,ink handling process,heat transfer printing process...
Some suppliers also play tricks when apply factory audit,for example:
• show you a sample factory for audit,whereas the production is in another poor factory
• tell you the people is taking leave and thus not able to interview with
• submit fake record and document for review
• submit very professional procedure and documents whereas there is no or lack of practice on daily operation
